Install guide
Eight steps. Carpenter tools.
Circular or miter saw, drill driver, caulk gun, level. If your crew hangs siding, they can install ezfaux.
Check the substrate
Flat, solid sheathing, plywood, OSB or drywall. On exterior walls, install a weather-resistive barrier and flashing first, as you would for siding.
Plan the layout
Measure the wall, snap a level line for the first course, and dry-fit a row so cuts land at the ends, not in the middle of a run.
Set the starter
Fasten starter trim or a ledger at the bottom line. Keep exterior panels above grade per local code and your weather barrier details.
Apply adhesive
Run beads of exterior-grade construction adhesive on the back of the panel in an S pattern, staying back from the edges.
Screw it off
Press the panel to the wall and drive screws through the recesses into framing or sheathing, per the screw schedule in your kit. Interlock the next panel tight.
Stagger the courses
Offset vertical joints row to row so seams do not line up. Cut with a fine-tooth saw; panels cut like wood.
Corners and trim
Install corner pieces or miter outside corners. Finish the top edge with cap trim and the sides with J-channel or trim.
Touch up
Color-match screw heads and cut edges with the touch-up kit. Done. No cure, no cleanup of mortar.
See it go up
Follow the manufacturer install sheet included with every order and your local building code. Exterior details (weather barrier, flashing, clearance to grade) take priority over this summary.
