FAQ
Faux stone panel questions, answered straight.

Product and performance
What are ezfaux panels made of?
High-density polyurethane (PU) cast in molds taken from real stacked stone, then color-finished. Each panel is 25 to 35 mm thick at the deepest stone, weighs about 3 lb and covers roughly 3.7 to 3.9 sq ft (Grand Ledge covers about 10 sq ft).
What is the fire rating?
Test reports are available on request. Polyurethane is a combustible material, so treat panels like other combustible wall finishes: follow your local code, keep required clearances around fireplaces, stoves and other heat sources, and ask us for the documentation that matches your application before you specify it.
Can panels go on exterior walls?
Yes. The panels do not absorb water and are color-finished for outdoor exposure. Exterior installs go over sheathing with a weather-resistive barrier and proper flashing, the same way you would detail siding.
How do they hold up to Minnesota winters and freeze-thaw?
There is no mortar, grout or absorbent cementitious body to crack or spall when water freezes inside it. Panels move a little with temperature, so leave the expansion gaps in the install guide and seal joints with a flexible exterior sealant.
Interior or exterior: is there a difference in the panel?
No. The same panel is used inside and out. What changes is the substrate and detailing: a weather-resistive barrier, flashing and clearance to grade on exterior walls; drywall, plywood or OSB inside.
How real do they look?
From normal viewing distance they read as stacked stone, with deep relief and color variation. Up close and by touch they are lighter and warmer than stone. Browse the profiles by category and compare them against your siding or trim before you commit.
Installation
How are panels fastened?
Construction adhesive on the back plus corrosion-resistant screws through the panel into framing or sheathing. Exterior work uses an exterior-grade adhesive and coated or stainless screws.
How do you cut them?
Like wood. A circular saw, miter saw or jigsaw with a fine-tooth blade cuts clean. Cut face up with a sharp blade, support the panel fully, and wear eye and dust protection.
How do you handle outside corners and trim?
Use matching corner pieces where available, or miter the panel ends and touch up the cut. Finish the top edge with a cap or ledger trim and the sides with J-channel or trim boards. We quote corners and trim with each job.
What about outlets, windows and doors?
Mark the opening on the panel, cut it with a jigsaw or oscillating tool, and use a box extender so outlets sit flush with the panel face. Around windows and doors, keep the panel off the trim with a small sealant gap and follow the flashing details for that opening.
Can you install in winter?
Yes. There is no mortar to protect from freezing. Use a construction adhesive rated for the temperature on the day and follow its application range.
Can panels be painted or touched up?
Yes. Cut edges, screw heads and small dings are touched up with matching color. Ask for a touch-up kit with your order. Exterior-grade acrylic paint can be used for custom color work.
Who installs them?
Any carpenter, framer or siding crew. No mason, no scratch coat and no cure time.
Ordering, pickup and warranty
How do I order?
Order online with Buy now on any priced panel, or ask for a quote for a full job with corners and trim. Quantity is chosen at checkout; each panel page shows how many panels a wall needs.
How do I compare the profiles?
Browse the panels by category: stacked stone, ledge stone and slate. Each panel page lists size, thickness, coverage and price per sq ft. Builders who need trade pricing can request a trade account or a job quote.
Do you deliver, or can I pick up?
Local pickup is in Savage, MN. After you order we confirm pickup or delivery details with you. Delivery to Twin Cities job sites can be arranged; ask for a quote.
What are the lead times?
4 to 6 weeks for special orders. Local stock is coming, so ask what is on hand.
Is sales tax charged? What about resale certificates?
Minnesota sales tax is added at checkout. Contractors buying for resale with a Minnesota resale certificate (Form ST3) should contact us before ordering so we can set up the account tax-exempt.
What is the warranty?
Panels are covered against manufacturing defects. Ask for the warranty sheet with your quote; terms depend on the profile and application.
Is there volume or trade pricing?
Yes. Trade accounts get trade pricing on every order and volume pricing on full jobs.
